Sri Ram Educational and Welfare Trust (“Trust”) welcomes and accepts voluntary donations from individuals, organizations, institutions, corporate entities, philanthropists, alumni, and well-wishers to support its educational, social welfare, skill development, community development, healthcare awareness, scholarship, and charitable initiatives.

This Donations Policy outlines the terms governing contributions made to the Trust.


1. Purpose of Donations

Donations received by the Trust may be utilized for:

  • Educational development and advancement.

  • Student scholarships and financial assistance.

  • Infrastructure development.

  • Library and laboratory enhancement.

  • Skill development and vocational training programs.

  • Social welfare and community outreach activities.

  • Women’s empowerment initiatives.

  • Child welfare and educational support programs.

  • Healthcare awareness and welfare activities.

  • Disaster relief and humanitarian assistance.

  • Environmental protection and sustainability projects.

  • Any other charitable objective permitted under applicable laws.

Unless specifically restricted by the donor and accepted by the Trust, all donations shall be treated as unrestricted contributions and may be utilized wherever the Trust considers most appropriate.


2. Forms of Donations Accepted

The Trust may accept donations in various forms, including but not limited to:

Monetary Donations

  • Online payments through payment gateways.

  • UPI transfers.

  • Net banking transfers.

  • Credit card payments.

  • Debit card payments.

  • NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS transfers.

  • Demand drafts and cheques.

  • Cash donations (subject to legal limits and applicable regulations).

In-Kind Donations

The Trust may accept:

  • Books and educational materials.

  • Computers and IT equipment.

  • Furniture and fixtures.

  • Laboratory equipment.

  • Sports equipment.

  • Vehicles.

  • Medical equipment.

  • Educational software and licenses.

  • Land and buildings.

  • Other goods and assets useful for charitable purposes.

Acceptance of in-kind donations shall be subject to inspection, suitability, legal compliance, and approval by the Trust.


3. Corporate and Institutional Contributions

The Trust may receive contributions from:

  • Companies.

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

  • Educational institutions.

  • Foundations.

  • Trusts and societies.

  • Non-governmental organizations.

  • International organizations (subject to applicable laws and approvals).

Corporate donors may request utilization reports, acknowledgments, and documentation as permitted by law and Trust policies.


4. Restricted and Designated Donations

Donors may indicate that their donation is intended for a specific purpose, such as:

  • Scholarships.

  • Infrastructure projects.

  • Educational programs.

  • Research initiatives.

  • Welfare projects.

  • Community development activities.

The Trust will make reasonable efforts to honor such donor preferences.

However, if:

  • The specified project is completed;

  • The project becomes impractical;

  • Regulatory restrictions arise; or

  • Circumstances materially change;

the Trust reserves the right to utilize the donation for a substantially similar charitable purpose.


5. Donation Receipts

Upon successful receipt of a donation, the Trust may issue:

  • Donation acknowledgments;

  • Payment confirmations;

  • Donation receipts;

  • Tax-related certificates, where applicable.

The donor is responsible for providing accurate information required for issuance of receipts.


6. Tax Benefits

Tax exemptions or deductions, if available, shall be governed solely by applicable laws and approvals granted by relevant authorities.

The Trust does not guarantee that every donation will qualify for any tax deduction or exemption.

Donors are advised to consult their tax advisors regarding eligibility and applicable benefits.


7. Donation Refund Policy

Donations are generally voluntary and non-refundable.

However, refund requests may be considered in exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Duplicate transactions.

  • Incorrect payment amounts due to technical error.

  • Unauthorized transactions verified by the payment service provider.

  • Payment processing errors.

Any approved refund shall normally be processed within 15 to 30 working days.

The Trust reserves the right to request supporting documentation before processing a refund.


8. Refusal of Donations

The Trust reserves the right to refuse, reject, or return any donation if:

  • Acceptance may violate applicable laws or regulations.

  • The donation is linked to unlawful activities.

  • Conditions attached to the donation are inconsistent with the Trust’s objectives.

  • Acceptance may adversely affect the Trust’s reputation, operations, or legal compliance.

  • Required documentation is not provided.

The decision of the Trust regarding acceptance of donations shall be final.


9. Donor Privacy

The Trust respects donor privacy and shall handle donor information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

Donor information shall not be sold or disclosed to third parties except:

  • Where required by law;

  • For audit, accounting, or regulatory compliance purposes;

  • To payment processing providers;

  • With the donor’s consent.


10. Recognition of Donors

Subject to donor consent, the Trust may acknowledge donations through:

  • Annual reports;

  • Websites;

  • Publications;

  • Events;

  • Recognition boards;

  • Institutional records.

Donors may request anonymity, and the Trust will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests.


11. Compliance with Laws

All donations shall be subject to:

  • The Income Tax Act, 1961;

  • Applicable charitable trust regulations;

  • Anti-money laundering laws;

  • Financial reporting requirements;

  • Foreign contribution regulations, where applicable;

  • Any other applicable laws and government regulations.

Donors may be required to provide identification or supporting documentation where required by law.
